What is the Elephant Sanctuary about?

The caring team who will introduce you to a unique experience of touching, feeding, walking and riding the magnificent African Elephants. Great family outing, suitable for all ages.The Elephant Sanctuary has African elephants and offers an interactive elephant program and elephant back riding

Day programs are offered daily, 7 days a week, at 08h00: 10h00 and 14h00

Walk,Ride & Experience elephants as never before........Guests are guided in small groups on foot through The Elephant Sanctuary. Guides will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants.
You will be introduced to the elephants in the forest area, and here you will be able to touch and interact with the elephants. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of of it.
Walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. See the stables where the elephants sleep at night.Guests learn about elephant anatomy and are able to feed them. On some hot or rainy days, you may see the elephants swimming.
Enjoy a drink from the cash bar on the main deck before departure. Remember to wear flat walking shoes, sun huts and bring your camera.

Only the O8H00 program includes brushing the elephants down

08h00 Program

R1200.00 per adult. R850 per child.(3-12 years). Min 2 people.
Arrival Time: Gates open at 07h50. program will start at 08h00. Departure Time: 09h45.

10h00 Program

R1275 per adult. R920 per child .(3-12 years). min 2 people
Arrival Time: Gates open at 09h45. Program starts at 10h00. Departure Time: 12H30 if not having lunch: 13h30 if staying for lunch

Lunch

R140 per adult. R70 per child (3-14 years) Lunch is on offer to guests participating in the Elephant Programs only. lunch is usually a buffet-style.

14h00 Program with Dinner and Ride

R1600 per adult. R1100 for a child(3-12 years) Only childred from 8+ years.
Arrival Time: Gate opens at 13h45. Program starts at 14h00. Departure Time: 21h00

Elephant Program plus sundowner drinks on the mountain deck and boma dinner around the fire. Elephant ride inclusive. Observe elephants being stabled. Bring a light jacket in case it is cool at night and wear jeans if riding.Beverages for own account

Elephant Back Riding Program

R430 per adult. R260 per child 8-12 years. Children must be 8 years+. Riding is an opportunity to experience elephants from a different perspective and is conducted in a boma.It is not a safari experience . (Only for the fit and adventurous). Wear jeans or long pants. It is an optional extra and the cost is "added-on" to the overnight experience and any of the elephant programs, except the 14h00 afternoon/dinner program, where it is included.
