Best time to visit Mozambique

Mozambique can be visited year-round, but for beach holidays the drier, cooler months from May to October are usually the most comfortable.

  • May – August: Pleasant daytime temperatures, less humidity.
  • September – November: Warmer, good for the beach and swimming.
  • December – March: Hot and humid with a chance of rain – still good, but more tropical.

If you want to combine Kruger Park safari with the Mozambique coast, July to October is an excellent window for both wildlife and beaches.

FAQ – Mozambique Tours from Johannesburg

Do I need a visa for Mozambique?

Visa rules depend on your passport. Some nationalities can get a visa on arrival, others must apply in advance. When you enquire, please tell Pieter your nationality and he will advise based on the latest information.

Is it safe to travel by road from South Africa to Mozambique?

Yes – we use known routes, daytime driving and established border posts. Your guide has many years of experience on these roads and handles all logistics, including vehicle documents, insurance and border procedures.

Can you customise a private tour just for us?

Absolutely. Any of these itineraries can be adjusted for a private family or friends group – for example, extra beach nights, more time in Swaziland or a Kruger Park extension. Just mention this when you send your enquiry.
