Embark on a magnificent safari, where you will be taken to the world-famous Kruger National Park, put your feet in the warm water of the Indian Ocean, make contact with the wild animals of Eswatini.
We will also visit the oldest proclaimed park in South Africa, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park.
You will enjoy a boat cruise on the largest lake system in South Africa, as well as a hike in the Drakensberg Mountains.
South Africa is a melting pot of natural habitats, where the Big 5 roam, as well as many other mammal species and over 900 bird species.
It is home to some of the highest mountains in Southern Africa, reaching over 3480m (11 417ft).
Lake St Lucia is home to the largest population of hippos, and form part on the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Isimangaliso is a Zulu word meaning “Miracle.
The Kingdom of Eswatini, formerly Swaziland, is a tiny Kingdom within the borders of South Africa. In this tiny Kingdom, conservation of the natural heritage is high on the list of priorities. We will spend a night here at Hlane Royal National Park, ancient grounds where the Kings roamed. It’s also the only park with the Big 5.
2 nights will be spent in Macaneta, just North of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. Here the warm Indian Ocean meets the white sands lined with coconut palms.
This safari will leave you with African memories that will remain with you for the rest of your life.

09 DAY KRUGER PARK | MOZAMBIQUE | SWAZILAND | DRAKENSBERGE | DURBAN | TOUR
Day 1 - THE 09 DAY KRUGER PARK - MOZAMBIQUE - SWAZILAND - DRAKENSBERGE-
DURBAN - TOUR
Departs early in You will be met by your professional safari guide. Once done with formalities at the airport, you will set off in an Easterly direction to Kruger National Park.
It’s a beautiful road, winding down the Great Escarpment into the Lowveld.
We will make a stop for lunch (Own expense).
On arrival at the gate to Kruger National Park, our safari begins. Kruger National Park is one of the most famous parks in Africa. It was established in 1926, by the President Paul Kruger. It covers an area of 20 000km2(7722 square miles).
It is home to over 500 species of birds and over 149 mammal species.
Being in the truck, you will have an elevated view of the natural area.
This evening your guide will light the fire and cook you a traditional African meal over the coals. We call it a braai (BBQ).
After dinner we will sit around the fire, sharing stories and fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.
Day 2 - Kruger National Park - Macaneta - Mozambique
We will enjoy a delicious breakfast before we break up camp. We will enjoy a safari out of the park.
We will head straight for the border of Mozambique.
Once the formalities are completed, we will continue East to the Indian Ocean. Mozambique is famous for its subtropical climate.
The warm waters of the Indian Ocean meet the white sand of the beach.
We will stop for a roadside lunch, before we continue to our campsite near the ocean.
After setting up camp, there will be time to go and take a swim in the ocean and enjoy the beach.
This evening your guide will cook you some of the freshest seafood (depend on availability).
We fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach.
Day 3 - Macaneta Beach - Macaneta beach - Mozambique
We wake up to the fresh air of the ocean. We have a full day here to explore the area, or laze in the sun on the beach.
We will enjoy a scrumptious brunch (breakfast and lunch).
In the evening we enjoy a traditional Potjie. (Traditional meal cooked in a cast iron pot.)
We enjoy a delicious breakfast before we break up camp.
Today we will cross into Eswatini. This tiny Kingdom is one of the last true remaining monarchies in the world. King Mswati III is the ruler of the Kingdom.
It’s a Kingdom filled with culture and wildlife.
We will travel the short distance to our overnight camp.
We will be spending our night in Hlane Royal National Park.
This park was proclaimed a National Park in 1967 under the instruction of King Sobhuza II. Hlane is the siSwati name for “wilderness”.
It was once the region’s richest hunting grounds.
Today, thanks to conservation efforts, it boasts the largest herds of game in the Kingdom, the
specialty being lion, elephant and rhino.
The park covers 22 000 ha (54 300 acres).
We set up camp overlooking a waterhole, where animals frequently come and quench their thirst.
We enjoy a delicious dinner and fall asleep to the calls of the animals. If we are lucky, we might hear the roar of one of the mighty lions.
This morning you have an opportunity to embark on one of the open jeeps for a morning safari. (Own expense).
On the safari you will be taken by a local Swazi guide and learn more about the animals, culture and special plants.
We then head South back to South Africa.
Once we crossed the border, we find ourselves in Kwazulu-Natal. Home to the Zulu clan, and once the land of the fearless King Shaka Zulu.
We drive along the Lebombo mountain range, forming the border between South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique.
We will stop enroute to enjoy a picnic lunch.
We will spend the next 2 nights in accommodation in the tiny village of St Lucia. This village is wedged between the waves of the Indian Ocean, and St Lucia Lake.
Hippos frequent the town at night to come and feast on the resident’s gardens.
Dinner tonight will be in town. (Own expense).
Day 6- St. Lucia - St. Lucia - Kwazulu Natal Province
Today is at Leisure. Optional activity is a game - drive in Hluluwe Game reserve with open safari vehicle.
St Lucia's wide variety of eco systems and natural habitats provides for an astounding diversity of species in the area. With its lakes, lagoons, freshwater swamps and grasslands, St Lucia supports a wide variety of species - from the country's largest population of hippos and crocodiles to giant leatherback turtles, black rhino, leopards, and a vast array of bird and marine life.
In the late afternoon you go on board the St. Lucia ferry for a fascinating guided cruise on Lake St Lucia. On this cruise you will hear about the origins of this unique wetland, its very interesting history and be able to observe its hippo and crocodile inhabitants at close quarters. The large number and variety of birds, which are an important feature of St. Lucia, will add to the interest and excitement of this cruise.
Day 7- St.Lucia - Mahai Camp site - Drakensberg North | Kwazulu Natal Province
After breakfast we set off inland to the Drakensberg Mountains. We will travel along the coast.
We will make a stop at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, where former statesman and president, Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962 after months on the run.
Here we will learn more about this statesman.
We then continue to our campsite at the foot of the Drakensberg Mountains.
We will spend 2 nights camping here.
Tonight, we enjoy a delicious dinner, with an amazing view of the mountains.
Accommodation: Mahai Campsite, Royal Nata National Park
Day 8 - Mahai Camp site Royal National Park - Kwazulu Natal Province
We enjoy breakfast, before we enjoy a hike to the Cascades waterfall in the park.
Don’t forget your swimming costume.
Royal Natal was established in 1916 after a visit from the Royal Family. It covers an area of 81km2(31.25 sq mi).
Today it forms part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park. (UNESCO World Heritage Site). uKhahlamba means “Barrier of Spears”.
We return to camp to enjoy some free time before dinner.
