Ponta do Ouro means in English "tip of gold", in reference ta an existing cape at the southern part of the beach
Ponta do Ouro has a petrol station, pharmacy, hardware stores, bottle stores, bank and other small shops in town. Basic food items like fruits and vegetables can be purchased at the local market. Fresh bread can be purchased at the local market
The currency is Metical, but US Dollar and the South African Rand are also accepted
You need a valid passport to enter Mozambique

Day 1 - Gauteng / Mozambique - Ponta do Ouro!
The 4 Day Ponta do Ouro Maputo Tour! Early departure from Johannesburg/Pretoria as we
travel South East towards Pongola where we enter Mozambique at Kosi Bay border. Distance 600 km.
We cross the border to Mozambique and then continue our journey to Ponta d' Ouro where we check in late afternoon.

Day 2 - Ponta do Ouro - Mozambique!
Today is free. You can enjoy the beach or book a tour to see the dolphins, deep sea fishing, snorkel or shopping in town

Day 3 - Ponta do Ouro- Maputo
After breakfast we leave for Maputo. 2 hour drive where we cross the largest suspension bridge in Africa to enter Maputo. Today we do sightseeing in Maputo City. We will visit the old train
station, Local market, Botanical gardens, Iron house and there will be time to walk on the beach

Day 4 - Johannesburg
After breakfast we head to the border of Mozambique/South Africa, where we will continue to Johannesburg and stop on-route for lunch. Arrive late afternoon in Johannesburg

The border between MOZAMBIQUE and SOUTH AFRICA is divided into two segments,
separated by the kingdom of eSwatini. The northern segment, which is 410 kilometers, runs north-south along the Lebombo Mountains from Zimbabwe to Swaziland. The southern segment, which is 81 kilometers long, runs east-west across Maputoland from Swaziland to the Indian Ocean.
